Tomasi obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Tasmania in 1996, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the High Court of Australia in 1997, and to the High Court of Fiji on 23 April 1998.

 

With more than 27 years of legal experience, Tomasi has developed a broad and versatile practice encompassing commercial transactions, advisory work, and conveyancing. His expertise extends across diverse areas including insurance, personal injury, construction law, commercial disputes, defamation, property, employment, family and estate disputes, and creditors’ remedies. He also undertakes criminal and family law matters for a select group of clients.

 

Tomasi’s professional standing has been recognised by Chambers & Partners for his work in General Business Law – Fiji.

 

Beyond his legal practice, Tomasi contributes to the community and corporate governance through a number of leadership roles. He is the President of the Defence Club, a Director of Bakels (Fiji) Limited, an Independent Director of Shreedhar Motors Limited, a Board Member of the Fiji Society for the Blind, and a member of the Mining Appeals Board. He also served as the Honorary Consul of Canada to the Republic of Fiji until 31 March 2026.

 

Outside of his professional commitments, Tomasi values time with family and friends and maintains an active interest in sport. He plays soccer with the Hasbeens Soccer Club, darts with the Defence Club Darts, rugby union with the Suva Golden Oldies, and golf with the Pirates Golf Club.
